Cataya's Lair

PhD.Com or "Piled Higher and Deeper" is the ongoing chronicle of life (or the lack thereof) in grad school. For a few laughs, you may check out the general fan favorites that poke fun at grad students, research and procrastination.

I find it quite dauntingly refreshing, considering I (as per 12 November 2006) am preparing myself for a PhD degree on Chinese politics n stuff, while right about the same time desperately memorizing and crunching Mandarin vocabs and grammar in Fuzhou, China.

I still have some "life", I suppose, in Fuzhou - if you determine "having a life" as having the time to slack off, to go clubbing, to get drunk, to have BBQ, etc etc, excluding: academic discussions, newspapers/journals reading n writing, civil society activism, bya bya bya... So I guess I might as well enjoy the "superficiality" of life here in Fuzhou....

I see you on the next episode of my life... hopefully, when I actually am doing my PhD... Toodles...
